A historic carousel in
Dumbo celebrated 100 years on the waterfront.
Mayor Eric Adams and residents of Brooklyn gathered Saturday
to honor Jane’s Carousel.
It was announced that May 7 would be called Jane’s
Carousel Day. Those who attended the celebration enjoyed a free
day of rides.
“I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl and now
this thing is 100 years old and I can bring my kid to it,” said one
attendee. “Hopefully he can bring his kids in 50 years when this thing is
150.”
