A Holbrook man who helps different charities each year decided to help the Tunnel To Towers Foundation in honor of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
Diogo Mendes rode from Manhattan to the Montauk Lighthouse, all while gathering donations for the foundation.
Mendes says he rides for a cause to show his kids how to help others and be a good person.
The ride took Mendes eight hours and 45 minutes, and he says it was a feeling like no other when he made it.
"I saw the lighthouse, I saw my family," says Mendes. "It was amazing."
Mendes says people can do anything as long as they put their minds to it. He says just keep trying and never give up.
