Home Depot workers volunteered at the Knickerbocker residence for veterans in Bushwick this week.
The workers repainted the hallways at the facility. The volunteers hailed from all five boroughs.
In a statement, Home Depot said it has an ongoing commitment to veterans, noting that the company employs more than 32,000 people who have previously served in the armed forces.
Residents at the Knickerbocker said the fresh paint was uplifting.
"Physically, it's paint," said veteran Walter Baldaccini. "But it's the spirit that's behind it."
