As the temperature and economy continue to fall, the Department of Homeless Services is trying its best to accommodate the growing number of families that need shelter.
New York City is experiencing a record high number of homeless families than ever before. Homelessness has soared 13 percent over the past six months. The DHS is helping many Brooklyn families, but room at shelters may soon become scarce.
