The Hudson Valley geared up for a big Cinco de Mayo celebration Thursday.
Restaurants across the region, including  La Casa Bronxville, hoped for big crowds for the first celebration since the pandemic has subsided.
Bar owners say Cinco de Mayo generates beer and liquor sales on par with the Super Bowl.
Cinco de Mayo, Spanish for "Fifth of May,” commemorates the anniversary of Mexico's victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.  It is sometimes confused with Mexico's Independence Day, which is on Sept. 16.
