Brooklyn immigrants took to the the streets Tuesday to rally for citizenship as part of a national protest.

Before rallying, participants attended an interfaith prayer service at Judson Memorial Church in Greenwich Village. Immigrants wrote the names of deported family members on papers that they used to create a "family tree."

Immigrants say their message is clear: legalize the undocumented and stop deportations and government policies that tear families apart. They hope Congress will take action to stop the practices.

Last year, tens of thousands of immigrants filled the nation?s streets demanding equality. Leaders are concerned that the upcoming presidential election may again push the issue out of the forefront.
