A new interactive sculpture was unveiled in Downtown Brooklyn on Wednesday, honoring the late Biggie Smalls as New York City celebrates hip-hop’s 50th anniversary.
Fans gathered at the sculpture, blasting his music and remembering his life and the impact he made on hip-hop, especially in his home borough of Brooklyn.
Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso kicked off the presentation of the sculpture, which made its move from Dumbo to in front of Borough Hall, standing 9 feet tall and running on solar power.
The sculpture is made from metals including bronze and stainless steel.
