News 12 is hearing more about Harold “Heshy” Tischler, who is accused of inciting a riot and attacking a journalist who was covering protests in the Orthodox Jewish Community last week.
Protesters in Borough Park lit a fire in the street last Tuesday in response to the governor’s plan on tackling new coronavirus clusters in their community.
Before a second protest on Wednesday, Tischler posted a video rallying against a local journalist, Jacob Kornbluh.
That night, an angry mob assaulted Kornbluh as he was out covering the protests. On Monday, Tischler was arraigned in court on charges that included unlawful imprisonment, incitement to riot, menacing, and harassment.
News 12’s Hannah Kliger met with Tischler in his office to talk about his night in jail, his controversial statements against the first lady of New York, and the incident for which he was arrested.
