The Islanders and Rangers hit the ice Saturday in East Meadow for the 2022 Alumni Classic.
Fans came out to watch former players for each New York team compete in a more tame addition to the rivalry.
"It looks they are having fun, you know, they're not out there to kill each other, they're not out to do anything like that," says Charlie Razenson, of Hicksville.
The money raised at the game will go to benefit the Northwell Health Foundation.
"So we use the money to help with people that have a problem with getting food, mental health issues," says Michael Dowling. "So the money will be well spend for people in the communities who need it the most."
The Islanders won the game 9-8.
Fans were able to chat with players and get autographs after the game.
