A man who was injured in a hit-and-run in Roslyn last week is sharing his story, as search efforts continue for the driver who left the scene.

Bryan Luksenberg says he was riding his battery-powered skateboard home from work Wednesday evening on Main Street when he was hit by a car.

"I just felt something hit me from behind, I went forward, I took a tumble. I landed right here on my hip," he said. "By the time I stood up I could feel all the blood dripping down my head, and you know, your adrenaline's rushing."

Luksenberg says an eyewitness saw what happened and stopped to help, and told him he was hit by a white SUV.

"She also said that the car ran over me," he says.

Luksenberg says he doesn't remember much and never even saw the car.

Police say the driver took off after hitting him.

"I feel like it's one of the lowest things you can do, really," says Luksenberg.

He was rushed to the hospital with internal bleeding.

Luksenberg says he has nine staples in his head, along with bumps and bruises everywhere.

Luksenberg says he didn't get the good Samaritan's name, but he's grateful she stopped.

After a two-day stay in the hospital, he says doctors told him he shouldn't have lasting injuries.
