The man accused of shooting two people in Flatbush this past April returned to court today.
Kareem Potomont, 21, is charged with attempted second-degree murder. Police say Potomont opened fire on a busy street in Flatbush, hitting a 24-year-old man in the leg and 13-year-old Gamma Droiville in the head.
The young teen survived, but suffered extensive injuries to his eye. Prosecutors say the boy was not Potomont's intended target.
Droiville and his family were at today's hearing. His father says it has been a rough couple of months, and told News 12 Brooklyn that his son will most likely never regain sight in his eye.
An attorney working on the case says that they are still in the fact-gathering stages.
If convicted, Potomont faces up to 25 years in prison. He will be back in court on Sept. 3.
