Kosher delis serving up traditional treats for first night of Hannukah

Liebman’s Deli is the only Kosher deli still standing in the Bronx, and longtime customers say they look forward to getting a taste of tradition from the deli every year.

Dec. 7 marks the first night of Hanukkah, and Kosher delis across New York City are preparing traditional dishes like latkes and sufganiyot, a type of Kosher jelly donut.  
For Yuval Dekel, owner of Liebman’s Deli in the Bronx, “it's important that we continue the Jewish presence here in the Bronx and to basically cherish our identity”.  
Liebman’s Deli is the only Kosher deli still standing in the Bronx, and longtime customers say they look forward to getting a taste of tradition from the deli every year.  
"It’s a lot of responsibility. I didn't intend on carrying the load of Jewish deli heritage here in the Bronx but that's what it's become,” said Dekel.
