The Monroe College women defended their 25-2 hoops season Tuesday against Queensborough Community College in the Region 15 quarterfinals.
Lady Mustang Angela Pace helped set the pace for the team. She racked up 12 points, helping Monroe lead by 39 at halftime. Monroe's Kaminie Jeeuth did her part. She nailed a three-pointer and scored 22 points during the game. The Lady Mustangs walked all over Queensborough with a 103-28 win.
Monroe players honored their 10 departing seniors before the game. Those hoopsters helped lead the Lady Mustangs in a 36-0 run to the national championship last season.
