A Brooklyn jury is deliberating the fate of the final man charged in the death of an NYPD officer.
The jury for Lee Woods began weighing testimony last Thursday, but were all sent home early Friday after one juror became sick and was hospitalized.
Woods and two other men, Dexter Bostic and Robert Ellis, were accused by prosecutors of acting as a team to shoot Officer Russel Timoshenko and his partner in July 2007 because they were caught with a stolen SUV containing illegal weapons.
Prosecutors say Bostic shot and killed Timoshenko while Ellis simultaneously shot Herman Yan, now a detective. They said Woods was the driver.
Bostic was convicted of aggravated murder in the first degree, aggravated attempted murder in the first degree and three counts of criminal possession of a weapon. He faces life in prison.
Ellis, in a verdict that drew outrage from family and police officials, was acquitted of murder and attempted murder Dec. 17.
All three men have separate juries.
