Last-minute shoppers stock up before Passover in Crown Heights

As Jewish people all over the world are preparing for Passover, there are always those last-minute shoppers who need to fill up their baskets.
At Kohan's Superette in Crown Heights, shoppers are stocking up on matzah, fruit with peels and even toothpaste.
Leavened bread cannot be eaten during Passover, so Jews will often make substitutions for daily foods to honor this rule. A popular alternative to bread is matzah, which Kahan's is full of.
Dale Kaplan shares that she is making her friend's Passover friendly cake recipe.
"It's a kosher cake and we're using almond flour instead of regular flour and I have to go through all the ingredients but it’s totally kosher!"
Passover commemorates the Israelite's exodus from Egypt into freedom. It's celebrated with the Seder, which is a festive meal that occurs on the first two nights of the holiday.
