After 42 years in the neighborhood, another Brooklyn Salvation Army is closing.
The Greenpoint Salvation Army is closing down, deciding to sell rather than renovate the building after a fire and some flooding several months ago.
A spokesman for The Salvation Army told News 12 in a statement that the Greenpoint location was one of several in the area that supported their adult rehab centers.
"We will continue to search for other properties in the Brooklyn area to continue providing shoppers with competitive pricing, donors with a great feeling of helping others and assistance to people in need," the spokesman said.
While the store will close by Sept. 30, an employee told News 12 that another location will soon be open in Bushwick.
