After several months of searching, the Empire State Development Corporation has announced a liaison for the Atlantic Yards project in downtown Brooklyn.
The ESDC has hired Forrest R. Taylor to act as an ombudsperson between the corporation, the community and developer Forest City Ratner. The ESDC says Taylor is suited for the job because of his government, transportation and community affairs background.
Meanwhile, according to published reports, City Planning Commission member Dolly Williams was fined $4,000 for approving part of the project that she had a vested interest in.
The city?s Conflicts of Interest Board says Williams invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in the New Jersey Nets, owned by the developer, then turned around and approved the plan that would modify a part of the project.
Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz reportedly announced Shirley McRae will replace Williams.
