The developer behind the former Long Island College Hospital site in Cobble Hill has released two revised plans for the property.
Fortis Property Group says both plans include a new medical facility operated by NYU Langone, but they are quite different.
The first plan includes only market rate housing as well as space for student housing. The plan outlines the taller towers would be close to the historic district. The developer says city zoning gives the right to build the plan without any discretionary public approvals.
Fortis says the second plan includes a design more "in touch" with the neighborhood. They say the plan includes affordable and senior housing, expanded park space, a new public school and retail along Atlantic Avenue. The taller towers would also be pushed away from the historic district.
