A livery cab driver was killed Sunday night when a alleged drunken driver hit her vehicle.
Authorities say Bessy Velasquez, a single mother from Brooklyn, was driving a fare in Queens when Daryush Omar hit her cab. According to police, Velasquez and her female passenger were taken to Astoria General Hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival.
Velasquez worked two jobs to support her two teen daughters.
Omar has been charged with DWI, driving with a suspended license and vehicular manslaughter. He is also under investigation for the 2006 murder of a Manhattan man.
