Meanwhile, Brooklyn Councilman Bill de Blasio is running for public advocate after receiving the Democratic nomination Sept. 29. De Blasio will face former Public Advocate Mark Green, of the Republican Party.
Voters in District 39 have a full ballot of choices with Bradford Lander running for the Democratic and Working Families parties against Republican Joe Nardiello, Conservative George Smith, the Green Party's David Pechefsky and Libertarian Roger Sarrabo for City Council.
Incumbent Councilman Kendall B. Stewart is also running as an Independent for the 45th Council District against Democrat Jumaane Williams and Republican Salvatore Grupico.
