The festivities for the West Indian American Day Carnival in Brooklyn are set to kick off this weekend, and businesses in the Flatbush neighborhood are prepping for the surge in customers.
Sugar’d, a restaurant on Newkirk and Rogers avenues, is expected to garner lots of attention for their delicious Caribbean food. They also plan to sponsor a kiddie carnival band this year that will take to the streets of Eastern Parkway this weekend.
Kids will be picking out their costumes in anticipation for the big day, and people of all ages will be stopping by to enjoy some of the delicious bites like coconut rice, jerk wings, and more.
The restaurant says they expect to see about 300 people through Monday.
