The Oyate Group, a local nonprofit in the Bronx, is partnering with GrubHub and the state’s Latino Restaurant Bar and Lounge Association to lend a helping hand to local restaurant owners.
"Rising Restauranteur" is a $200,000 microgrant program that will look to support minority restaurant owners across New York City. Entrepreneurs in the food and beverage industry can apply for microgrants of up to $10,000 to restore and improve their businesses.
“Restaurants are where everybody in the community wants to go have fun, enjoy some food, so it’s important to really have these restaurants operating,” said Tomas Ramos, founder and CEO of The Oyate Group. “They employ a lot of people… the cycle of restaurants are extremely important to have them continue operating and just have a vibrant community.”
Applications are now open until April 30.
