Local people and organizations were honored Monday night at the Made in NY awards in Williamsburg.
The awards ceremony was created by former Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Current Mayor Bill de Blasio was on hand Monday to help with hosting duties. Made in NY honors people and organizations who have made contributions to the city and enriched its entertainment and media.
Among those honored Monday were actors Steve Buscemi and Rosie Perez, along with comedian Louis CK.
De Blasio said at the ceremony that New York City is now home to more than 40 primetime shows and around 230 films that bring money and jobs to the city.
