Many people who had appointments to get the COVID-19 vaccine in Canarsie had to stand out in the cold Sunday waiting to get inside - with long wait times in the building as well.
Melanie Abraham - who works in health care - waited for around three hours on Sunday at the Canarsie Educational Campus to get the long-awaited shot in the arm.
"I know some people are lucky enough to get in and out and some are not but at least we are lucky enough to get the vaccine," she says.
It comes as others around the city have struggled with getting an appointment - or face long wait times at vaccination sites.
A spokesperson from the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene said in a statement, "there is a lot of interest in vaccinations and people are being inoculated by the thousands at sites across the city. wherever we are encountering longer lines we are reassigning staff to support and to get people served as soon as possible."
