A road construction project has left some Greenpoint residents in overdrive about the tickets they?ve received for parking illegally.
Residents on Franklin Street complain in addition to dust, noise and traffic tie-ups, they?re dealing with fines when parking is limited. Several drivers say they?re confused by the "no parking" signs, which are moved along the road as crews work to replace old sewer and gas lines. The city says the $24 million project will continue at least until the end of the year. The Department of Design and Construction says it is checking to see if the "no parking" signs were put up in the right place. If not, the department will work to cancel the parking tickets.
