The latest poll released by Quinnipiac University shows that mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani is leading the race, with nearly 22% more support than runner-up former Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa is in third with 15% support. Current Mayor Eric Adams rounds out the poll with 12%.
Quinnipiac University poll assistant director Mary Snow says that, "while a lot can happen in the race between now and Nov. 4, Mamdani's edge on enthusiasm among supporters is a plus."
As Adams continues to deny claims that he would drop out of the race, the poll says that if a hypothetical three-way race were to occur, Mamdani would receive 46% support, Cuomo would have 30% and Sliwa would receive 17% support.
The poll also discusses top issues for voters. While voters 35 years old and older insist that crime is their top issue, 18 to 34-year-olds rank affordable housing higher.
President Donald Trump's influence (or non-influence) on NYC is also considered, with 56% of voters hoping to see the next mayor do more to "stand up to President Trump."
