A man is badly burned after a fire broke out in a Borough Park building that had hazardous chemicals inside.
Witnesses say the man in his 20s ran out of the McDonald Avenue building onto the street while on fire. They say they told the man to stop, drop and roll.
A truck driver making a delivery in the area then pulled out a fire extinguisher from his truck and sprayed the man's legs to help put out the flames.
The man was taken to Maimonides Medical Center in critical condition.
The police chief says there was an explosion and fire inside the McDonald Avenue building. Two firefighters also suffered some minor injuries putting out the fire.
A source tells News 12 that the man was mixing hookah flavors with acetone, which may have sparked the fire. No official cause has been announced.
