A man is dead following an apparent domestic dispute in Bushwick, authorities say.
Police responded to 1225 Broadway just after 2 a.m. Sunday. Investigators say they found 21-year-old Kevin Rivera stabbed in the chest in his girlfriend's third-floor apartment.
Rivera was taken to Woodhull Medical Center in critical condition, but was later pronounced dead.
Sources say the stabbing stemmed from a domestic dispute involving the victim's girlfriend. The sources say that Rivera was allegedly stabbed by an 81-year-old relative of the girlfriend. They then allegedly fled the scene.
Rivera's family is in the process of planning for his funeral.
Family members say Rivera went to his girlfriend's apartment to celebrate the birthday of his 1-year-old daughter. They say he enjoyed playing guitar, skateboarding and singing, and was a great father to his daughter.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
