A man had died after being fatally struck by a train when his backpack got caught on the train doors.
Police sources say it happened on Monday at the Utica Avenue train station. Witnesses told police that the man in his 50s was leaving the train when he got caught on the door, fell in between the train cars and onto the tracks. Then, the train began to move and struck him.
EMS pronounced the man dead on scene. He has not yet been identified.
