A jury in Brooklyn has found a man accused of pushing a police officer to his death not guilty of murder, but did convict him on the lesser charge of aggravated manslaughter.
Prosecutors had argued that George Villanueva intentionally pushed officer Alain Schaberger off a stoop when the officer tried to arrest Villanueva while responding to a domestic violence call.
Villanueva faces up to 30 years in prison, but the sentence may be enhanced due to his prior criminal history. He is expected to be sentenced on May 23.
