Police say they have identified the man who was arrested for shooting at three detectives in Brownsville Friday night.
Kowon Davis, 44, has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing a police officer.
Police say that Davis stopped in front of a crowd in a black Lexus near Sutter Avenue, and then exited the vehicle with a gun.
Detectives then say they ordered him to freeze, leading Davis to open fire. Police returned fire, hitting Davis in the leg before he ran away.
Davis was arrested less than a block away between Howard Avenue and Grafton Street on Sutter Avenue, according to police. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he is in stable condition
