A man is dead, and another hurt in a stabbing in Cypress Hills early Friday morning, police say.
Investigators say two men showed up at Jamaica Hospital just after midnight with stab wounds. A 30-year-old man had been stabbed in the armpit and was later pronounced dead. A 25-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach and is in stable condition.
At first, police thought the incident happened on Hemlock Street. They later confirmed the stabbing actually took place near Ridgewood Avenue and Crescent Street. When News 12 crews arrived, crime tape surrounded a deli with its gates pulled down and a beauty salon across the street. Detectives believe both spots are tied to the investigation.
Police say the two victims drove themselves to the hospital. Right now, detectives are still trying to figure out what led up to the stabbing. They also say the surviving victim has not been cooperative.
