The clock is ticking toward the holidays and with more people shopping online, FedEx says today will be the busiest shipping day of the season.
The shipping giant expects nearly 17 million packages to pass through its global network today out of more than 260 million packages this holiday season. Officials say shipping volume has increased 75 percent since 2005.
FedEx says that it hired 20,000 seasonal workers to help with the holiday rush and keep packages moving smoothly so that they make it to their destinations on time.
