Mark Gjonaj has defeated incumbent Assemblywoman Naomi Rivera in the Democratic primary for the 80th District. Rivera has held her seat since 2005. However, she recently came under fire for questionable hiring practices. In addition to Rivera, Gjonaj also beat out Irene Estrada-Rukaj and Adam Bermudez.
