Mayor Bill de Blasio says he's confident that the outbreak of Legionnaires' disease in the Bronx has been contained.

The mayor spoke at Lincoln Hospital Thursday, saying that the total number of patients now stands at 121, but that there have been no brand new cases since Aug. 3.

He also took time during the press conference to thank the hospitals, as well as the health care workers, who have been tackling the outbreak in the last few weeks.

Officials say that cooling towers at 38 buildings in the borough have been decontaminated, with 14 of them having tested positive for the legionella bacteria. Six additional buildings outside the impact zone, which were not associated with the outbreak, also tested positive and were disinfected.

The outbreak has been linked to 12 deaths.
