The city is ramping up its community engagement for the proposed Brooklyn-Queens streetcar connector -- or BQX.
A meeting was held in Red Hook Thursday evening to get the word out about the plans for the BQX.
The Economic Development Corporation sought feedback from Brooklyn residents to help fine tune the proposal. Officials hope that by working with the community from the start, the system will be better integrated into the neighborhood.
Some residents praised the early engagement while others were opposed to the plan. More community meetings will be held along the BQX route throughout the summer, though exact dates and locations have yet to be determined.
