Ardsley Middle School has notified its parents after an antisemitic social media post circulated within the building.

This is at least the fifth antisemitic incident to occur at a Westchester County school since September.

In a statement, Ardsley Middle School Principal Stuart Horlacher notified parents that the meme rooted in antisemitic language was "repeated by a small amount of students."

While it is unclear as to what the meme said, the school made its position clear saying: "The actions of a few do not define our school, but they do require attention and response."

This joins four other recent incidents throughout the county.

"These are not in isolation. This is a reality that the Jewish community faces every single day. Nine in 10 American Jews have actually said they are afraid as Jews in the United States of America today," said Regional Director Myra Clark-Siegel of the American Jewish Committee.

Somers Central School District in both September and December notified parents of four total swatikas found on school grounds. Rye Country Day School reported a swastika found in December. This march, a swastika was found at Rye Middle School, and hate speech stickers were found on a Hastings-on-Hudson commemorative street sign for formerJewish student, Ali Marpet.

Principal Horlacher asked parents to take time to speak with their children on the impact of words, saying that together everyone can insure the school stays place where every student feels safe, valued, and respected.

News 12 contacted the district for a comment, however it is closed today for Eid al-Fitr.
