Middle school students at Xaverian High School in Bay Ridge are taking part in the school's first Lego robot league competition today.
Organizers say it's a good way for the 280 participating students to enhance their public speaking skills, as well as learn more about math and science.
Although there are no cash prizes for the winner, the staff says the competition is a good college resume-builder.
The team that advances today will compete in March's tournament at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
