Brooklyn?s Floyd Bennett Field plays host this weekend to more than two dozen military aircrafts, past and present.
The C-130 is one of many aircrafts on display at the free ?Fly-In? event. Organizers say the event gives Brooklyn residents a live look at aviation history. Aircraft Commander Cliff Souza says his group does combat operations to help the troops overseas and in the U.S. for the global war on terror.
Event organizers say the field is a historical gem in Brooklyn because it played a major role in WWII and the golden age of aviation. Several famous aviators took off or landed at Floyd Bennett Field, such as Amelia Earhart and Howard Hughes.
