The founder of the Bishop Memorial Mission in Clinton Hill is still going strong despite losing her eyesight.
Bishop Alethia Rice, 78, moved to Brooklyn in the 1970s, and has been helping the helpless ever since.
“If somebody is down, you give them a lift up. Somebody is hungry, feed them…We feel good inside when we do good things for others,” she told News 12.
The mission opens its pantry doors on the third Saturday of every month to those who need it the most.
