Tenants of a Coney Island building may be forced out in the cold as their affordable housing is pulled from under their feet.Ocean Tower tenants on West 24th Street say the Mitchell Lama program was pulled from their building. Now, hundreds of fixed income tenants could see a rent increase. Many tenants are wondering where they will live without the affordable housing.Critics complain the Mitchell Lama program costs taxpayers too much money. An employee of the towers say those tenants who are eligible can receive Section 8 vouchers.
