New Yorkers who are 60 and older are eligible to receive the coronavirus vaccine today.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the changes come as more vaccines are becoming available.

Cuomo also announced that public-facing government, nonprofit and essential building service workers can be vaccinated beginning next Wednesday.

This group includes social service, child case workers, sanitation workers, DMV workers and more.

Also, starting next Wednesday, all vaccine sites will be able to vaccinate anyone eligible.

The only exception is pharmacies will only be vaccinating those 60 and older and teachers.

This means sites like Yankee Stadium that are currently only vaccinating people living in the Bronx will be able to vaccinate any eligible New Yorkers when the change takes effect.

The governor says there has been frustration over vaccine appointments and eligibility, but the Biden administration is working to increase the production of the vaccine so it can be more heavily distributed.

The state is also opening 10 additional state-run mass vaccinations sites, including one at an undetermined location in the Bronx.
