The mother of a gun violence victim who was killed in June spoke about her son’s life and her need to bring justice to the shooter.
Daundra Jordan’s son, Delijah, was killed in June. Tuesday would have been his 22nd birthday.
“Everytime you see him, it was a smile,” said Jordan.
To honor his birthday, The Pharos Academy, previously known as the Bronx Lighthouse Charter School, held a memorial for their former student Delijah.
Jordan says that the school supported her and her family greatly during this hard time, helping them pay for funeral expenses and helping out in other ways.
Almost five months after Delijah’s death, the killer is still at large. Daundra Jordan urges for anyone that knows anything about his case to step forward.
“I hear a lot of people, ‘oh, I’m his friend, I love Delijah’…. You were in the park that day, you were around,” said Jordan. “I’m quite sure someone heard something… he deserves that much, for his killer to be caught.”
Anyone who may have any information that could help police in their investigation is asked to call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. All calls are kept confidential.
