Motorists and cyclists have differing opinions about street racks being set up in Brooklyn to provide cyclists with a safe place to park off the sidewalk. The corals use one or two street parking spots and are aimed at cleaning up sidewalk traffic. Brooklyn cyclists are in favor of the devoted rack areas, but motorists are saying the new racks will only make already difficult parking even more stressful. Some community members argue that bicycles are largely seasonal, and the corals will serve no purpose in the winter other than to take up space.
