Dozens of software developers made their way to MetroTech Center in Downtown Brooklyn Saturday to participate in App Quest.
The contest was held to program the best transit smartphone apps to help commuters navigate. The event was hosted by the MTA and funded by AT&T.
Participants were asked to focus on making the MTA system more accessible for disabled riders.
The winners will go on to compete for $50,000 and the chance to further develop their app.
Winners of the larger competition will be announced in March. After that, their apps will be available to download.
