MTA increases weekday subway service for C line train
The initiative comes as the MTA has received extra funding from the 2024 state budget.

4h agoThe Metropolitan Transportation Authority is increasing weekday service on the C line in New York City.
Starting Monday, C trains will arrive two minutes faster during the day. Commuters who travel outside of peak hours should now see a C train pulling up to the station every 8 minutes.
Gov. Kathy Hochul says that she wants New Yorkers to feel confident that they can rely on the MTA, even outside of traditional commuting hours.
The MTA recently shortened wait times on subway lines that are seeing more riders during off-peak hours. So far, they’ve increased weekend service on the G, J and M lines.
This comes as the MTA received extra funding from the 2024 state budget to help with their post-pandemic recovery struggles. The agency says that ridership on weekdays is back at 65% to 70% of pre-pandemic levels.
The MTA said that more off-peak service changes would be coming in August on the N, R, 1 and 6 trains, but it's unclear when those will go into effect.
