Public bathrooms at nine Metropolitan Transportation Authority stations reopened for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Of the nine bathrooms, two of those bathrooms are in the Bronx at the 161st Street and 180th Street stations. Two Brooklyn stations are also included - Kings Highway station in Gravesend and the Jay Street-Metro Tech on the A, C and F lines.

The MTA closed many of its bathrooms during the pandemic and have since included a much-needed makeover. The bathrooms now have motion-activated faucets, new hand-dryers, lighting and paint. They also replaced the privacy panels between the stalls.

The bathrooms are open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., but will be closed for cleaning from noon to 1 p.m.

The other stations with public bathrooms reopening are on Fulton Street, Jackson Heights–Roosevelt Avenue, Forest Hills 71st Avenue, 14th Street–Union Square, East 180th Street and 42nd Street Bryant Park.
