The Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights says it will shell out $5 million to help bail women and young teens out of Rikers Island.
The group announced it would raise funds to bail 500 women and teens from the jail.
They hope their actions bring attention to the bail system that they say 'discriminates minorities and the poor.'
Bailouts could happen as early as next week, officials with the organization say.
Anyone being held without bail or who has already been sentenced for a crime is not eligible, according to The Robert F. Kennedy Center.
In 2017, the group raised more than $100,000 to bail out over 50 teens.
