Police are questioning neighbors Thursday about the murder of a husband and wife who were found shot to death inside their home.
Police say they found a bloody crime scene inside the home at 1961 E 33rd St. after the brutal murder of 50-year-old Mark Schwartz and 48-year-old Christina-Maria Petrowski-Schwartz. Police continue to haul bags of evidence out of the home, and one neighbor says he remembers hearing gunshots.
"I heard 'boom, boom, boom.' I took my headphones off, and I figured it was just someone making noise," says James Kelly.
Neighbors say the couple had a German shepherd that usually barked at anything, but they didn't hear a sound from the dog at the time of the murder.
Police say the couple, both local divorce lawyers with their own practice, had injuries to the head they believe came from gunshots.
The couple's housekeeper made the gruesome discovery at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Police have not made any arrests and did not see signs of forced entry.
