An adult novelty store that just opened in Marine Park isn't receiving a warm welcome from the neighborhood.
Sexy Wonders Adult Boutique is already sparking controversy after opening its doors along Flatbush Avenue Thursday, right next to the Flatlands branch of the Brooklyn Public Library.
Many residents complain that some products and signs advertising lingerie and romance enhancers are in plain sight in the window, right where children can see.
City Councilman Jumaane Williams is requesting a community discussion about the store's presence in what many say is a child-friendly area.
Williams says that he would like for the owners to do a better job of concealing the adult-oriented products sold within the shop.
News 12 spoke with an employee at the shop on the matter. They said that although the owner is out of town, he would be open to a conversation with the community when he returns.
